Regarding Group Security and "Hackers"Hello Everypony,
This post is largely directed towards anyone who moderates or runs a MLP-related group on DeviantArt, but the information contained can be relevant to everyone.
Over the past few hours, there's been a note circulating around to various MLP groups, claiming that there is a small group of "hackers" (which is not the correct word) attacking MLP groups, taking them over, and vandalizing them. To counter this, the note is suggesting that groups should block all join requests, disable auto-accept, and then forward the note to every other group you know of.
Really, that's horrible advice, don't do that.
It is true that during the past few days, a couple of pony groups have been attacked by malicious users. However, there is no elaborate hack or security flaw that's allowing this to happen. Instead, the groups that were attacked simply had an incorrectly configured, yet easily fixable, setting in their group's permissions which allowed such attacks.

It's already time to announce our second Draw Off contest for the month. As with the last contest, we have some exciting prizes for the winners - a three month premium membership for first place, 350 points for second place, and 150 points for third.
We're getting close to celebraint Nightmare Night, so this contest's theme is:

For this contest, our regular rules do apply. This contest is open to all members, art jurors, and art sorters of the group. First October Contest, and New Prizes!Hello everypony! With the fall just around the corner, we would like to introduce a new contest, and new contest changes!

Round 2 of the SE v. NLR Contest! -Updated!-The game is afoot! Round 2 of the contest has begun!
A Royal Guard rushed through the wide oak doors, galloping across the red carpet that leads to the throne.
Running up to the white alicorn, he stopped short of the throne, kneeling in deference.
"Your Majesty, we have just received a disturbing report from our front scouts," he proclaims, breathing heavily from the running.
The Princess looks concerned. "What is it?" she asked, leaning forward in her seat to better view the Guard.
"It seems that Princess Luna is not who we thought she is!" he exclaimed, looking up at Princess Celestia.
"What do you mean? What did the scouts find?" her voice filled with urgency.
The Guard hesitates. "It appears... that Princess Luna was actually Queen Chrysalis. She's returned!"
Princess Celestia's eyes widened with shock. "Where is the real Luna?"
The Guard looked up warily, eying the Princess. "We believe she is being held captive by the Changelings."

November/December MLP Plush Contest/GiveawayWith Christmas right around the corner (someone just reminded me how it's only 7 weeks away... ugh) I decided that instead of doing two separate contests for November and December, I would combine them into one extra special version for the holidays. This will give me some extra time to catch up on previous winners' plushies, work on commissions, and spend some time with the family, and also give everyone some extra time to enter!
This contest is all about art in any form. I don't want to limit any kind of media, so anything and everything will be accepted. From traditional art, photoshop, music, comics, sculpture, poems, short stories, videos, to anything else you can think of! Try to think outside the box on this one and of course have fun!
There will be a top 10 chosen by myself, with the winners being chosen by voting again. I still have some tweaking to do with the way voting will work, but details on that will come later.

Round Three of the SE v. NLR Contest!Hello fillies and gentlecolts! Today we announce the beginning of the third round in our four-part inter-group contest!
In the first round, the members of each group were tasked on designing a set of armor for their chosen side.
In the second round, Queen Chrysalis revealed that she had secretly impersonated Luna, and caused the divide in Equestria. Participants of the Solar Empire side drew Princess Luna being rescued, and participants on the New Lunar Republic side drew Queen Chrysalis revealing her plans and impersonating Luna.
The time has come to bring this conflict to a head!
In the third round, your task is to show both NLR and SE troops and ponies getting ready for battle against the Changelings! Whether they're on the front lines, or making the armor in the forges, draw these two types of ponies working together!

In the spirit of things, we wanted to run a Christmas contest, but, by scanning over DeviantArt and other groups, we saw that, naturally, a lot of other groups had the same idea. We don't much fancy running a contest that's almost identical to other contests on DA – a simple Christmas-themed pony contest is something that you can take part in elsewhere. Hi everypony!

It looks like, in our most recent poll [link], it's been decided that you guys prefer we run one contest a month! So, we're going back to that policy right away!

This month we've got a relatively easy and fun theme that I'm sure all of you will be drawing anyway:

You are only allowed one entry into the contest.

Entries may not contain blood, gore, sexual or suggestive content, drugs, alcohol, or political or religious references.

OCs are allowed for this contest, but they must be ponies. We will not accept OCs that are griffons, dogs, velociraptors, etc.

Humanized and anthro ponies are allowed for this contest, but they must be canon characters. Humanized and anthro OCs will not be accepted.
