Earlier today, a defamatory post was made. This post called myself out, and it called out our Founder. Since that post was made, several things have changed. I'm here to explain what has happened, and to explain myself, and why I did what I did.
I would like to apologize that this issue became public. This should not have happened. However, on the brighter side, because of this, the Founder, and all of the administration, has reaffirmed their commitments to the group, and we have established better communication networks between each other. Now, before a decision is made, the entire administration will be given a chance to throw in their two cents. And occasionally, we will throw up a poll to hear what y'all have to say, because we do value your opinions.
For starters, yes, there were a few decisions that I made that should have been brought to the attention of the other Co-Founders before I had done them. I openly admit that I may have made a mistake. I misinterpreted what our Founder said, and took it as permission to do what I thought I had to do. I was wrong. For this, I apologize.
To explain the specific events: I opened up submissions to 3 per day instead of one, because I honestly felt we were limiting people too much. I like seeing people submit art here, and I thought that once per day was just not enough. As for the demoting of certain moderators, I only demoted three moderators that had each been inactive for over two weeks. Because this group is so large, and because we need active administrators, I took it that they were unable to further fulfill their duties.
This journal isn't about pointing fingers, and blaming others. There were things that the other Co-Founder did himself that I disagreed with, that was not brought up with other Co-Founders or the Founder. We have both made these mistakes.
For the past few hours, all Moderators that were online, the other Co-Founder, the Founder, and myself, were all discussing what happened in a chatroom. After much deliberation, our Founder stepped in and cleared up a few hot topics we were debating.
1. The Stable folder will remain, and we the admins will continue to sort it.
2. The deviation submission limit has been lowered from 3 to 2, due to the fact that 3/day was a bit much for the admins to handle.
A general agreement was established around these decisions, and we the administration have promised to do everything in our power to follow what our Founder has laid down as the law.
Regretfully, the other Co-Founder and I still disagreed, and he elected to leave his position as Co-Founder. I do want to say that he will be missed. Though the two of us didn't agree on everything, he was still a valuable addition to the group, and I hate to see him go.
Better things are just around the corner for this group. In the meantime, we will do everything in our power to make sure that you, our watchers, remain satisfied, and that we do our best to administrate the group. Thank you, and once again, I am terribly sorry.
