First off, we will be running not one, but two contests a month! So if you don't particularly like the topic, or if you don't know what to draw, no worries! You can always enter the second monthly contest!
Now, we are offering new prizes for our contest winners. Starting in October,
First Place in a contest will get you a three-month Premium Membership!
Second Place will get you 350 to spend however you want!
And Third Place will get you 150!

My Chibi Pony InfoAll of our Chibi Ponies are made from very soft and cuddly fleece. I decided to go with carefully cut felt for the eyes because I wanted a more 3d look compared to iron on or patch eyes. The eyes and cutie marks are glued on with a high quality fabric glue. I put a lot of sewing detail into the hair and tails.
They are about 7.5" from hooves to ears, and about 10" from nose to the end of the tail. They are all balanced and can stand up by themselves no problem.

Hello everypony!

The August Draw-Off was amazing, and we had a ton of very awesome art submitted to the contest! But now that it's over, it's time to move on to our third Draw-Off contest!

Every month, we host a contest for everyone to participate in. We decide upon a central theme, and all entries must be centered around that theme. Once the submission deadline has passed, the group administrators will vote on the winning entry.

These contests are open to anyone who is a member of our group. Additionally, each member is only allowed one submission into the contest. We have also created a specific folder for this event, and only entries submitted to that folder will be accepted.

As always, our basic group rules do apply to this contest. This means that submissions may not contain gore, sexual or suggestive poses, abuse of drugs, religious or political references, etc. If you have any questions about the rules, please just post a comment in this journal and we'll be happy to help!

Furthermore, your art must be drawn specifically for this contest. This is to allow fairness, so that everypony has the same amount of time to draw. Any images that were previously featured on DA will not be accepted.

Now, to the fun stuff! This months theme is:

Ponies Working Together To Solve A Problem!

Show two or more ponies working together to solve a problem, big or small. To make things more interesting though, we do have a special rule: The ponies must be of an unlikely team. So whatever the problem is, the ponies working to solve it must be ponies who you would not normally see working together. Please note that while we will allow shipping, it is not encouraged, as that is not part of the theme. Finally, we ask that the teams be canon characters only please.

Deadline: September 25th, 2012 (no late entries, please)

The grand prize winner will be spotlighted, and will be showcased in a special section of the group where their image will be featured forever! We also offer second and third place prizes as well!

Nooo I missed the deadline for this!

I haven't had internet for a few weeks so couldn't check on the date >_< gah, I spent ages working on my entry as well.
Hopefully I will be able to think up something for next month then and get my entry done faster.

how "unlikely" would it have to be? Obviously any of the ponies doing something with chrysalis or discord is about as unlikely as it can get, but what about something like rainbow dash helping twilight with something egg-heady? Obviously the art for any of these will be presented as a likely event, so saying that it has to be "unlikely" sorta feels... donno.. kinda counter intuitive.

The idea is to see two ponies who wouldn't normally work together on something working together. This is why it's called a "challenge", as not only do you have to show them solving a problem, but you also have to make it convincing that they need to work together despite the fact that they normally wouldn't for one reason or another.

As for Rainbow helping Twilight with something eggheaded, I'm not so sure. Rainbow has shown that she is willing to do stuff for her friends that she normally wouldn't want to, such as modeling for Rarity or helping Pinkie go on a pranking spree (remember, she initially didn't want to), so it wouldn't be too difficult to imagine her helping Twilight with something that's too scientific for her tastes.

It is true that you could team Discord or Chrysalis with almost anypony and it would be considered an unlikely team, but creativity is rewarded in the judging process.
